The most common reason for newly installed devices to fail is debris. Debris that hasn't been cleared from the line enters the device when Shut-Off #1 is opened for the first time.
In most cases, a simple cleaning will solve the problem. When repairs are required, usually the device can be repaired with new parts, but occasionally there is permanent damage to the device.
