COVID-19 AND BACKFLOW

Backflow testing and maintenance is critical to public health, so your water district will still be requiring an annual test during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Many plumbing systems that require a backflow preventer are considered extremely hazardous to the potable water supply. When a backflow preventer is not functioning properly, it can lead to an outbreak of such waterborne illnesses as Hepatitis-A or Legionnaire's Disease. At present, such an outbreak could be devastating to our already overburdened healthcare system.

We are taking steps to ensure our own safety and the safety of our customers by washing and sanitizing our hands frequently through out the day, using nitrile-surgical gloves, and trying to practice social-distancing whenever we are able.

By taking these steps, and continuing to safeguard our potable water supply, we hope to do our part during the COVID-19 pandemic.
